SSC CGL

The SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission – Combined Graduate Level) exam is held every year by India’s Staff Selection Commission. It is a highly competitive test designed to select candidates for various Group B and Group C positions in government ministries, departments, and organizations.

The SSC CGL exam consists of two stages:

Tier-I: Preliminary Examination

This is an online objective-type paper that contains four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

The purpose of Tier-I is to shortlist candidates for the next stage of the exam.

Tier-II: Mains Examination

This stage includes 3 papers: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3.

Paper 1 (Mandatory for all posts) consists of two sessions: Session I (Objective + Computer Proficiency Test) and Session II (Skill Test: Typing Test).

Paper 2 is for candidates applying for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) position in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

Paper 3 is for candidates applying for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer roles.

The exam is held yearly, with notifications published by the Staff Selection Commission. These notifications provide details like exam dates, syllabus, and other important information.
